The was recorded in Adelaide at Mix Masters Studio. engineered and mixed by Jed Palmer in 2024.

Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, the trio—comprising Max McKinnon, Jed Palmer, and Paul Sloan—has carved out a reputation for creating high-tension sonic landscapes built entirely on shared instinct, raw texture, and live-in-the-room telepathy.

There is a distinct bravery in choosing complete improvisation for a debut release. With Resist Your Soul’s Urge For Freedom, the inaugural EP from independent imprint Galactic Impact Records, Adelaide trio Elizabeth Prophet skips the introductory pleasantries and plunges straight into the deep end of avant-garde minimalism.
Recorded live with no safety nets, the three-piece—Max McKinnon, Jed Palmer, and Paul Sloan—delivers a masterclass in sonic tension. The EP functions less like a collection of songs and more like an unfolding psychological thriller. The music moves in waves, beginning with sparse, skeletal arrangements that slowly gather mass, weight, and friction until they mutate into a wall of beautiful, towering noise.
Palmer’s mastery of tone provides the record's emotional spine, conjuring expansive, desolate soundscapes that evoke the lonely expanses of the Australian outback at dusk. McKinnons contributions cut through this atmosphere with sharp, deliberate precision, while Sloans masterful drumming skills anchors the chaos, shifting effortlessly from minimalist cymbal scrapes to thunderous, ritualistic rhythms. It is an exercise in restraint; the band understands that the silence between the notes is just as powerful as the crescendos.
Galactic Impact Records’ commitment to sustainability also mirrors the music's raw nature. Pressed onto unique, re-recycled vinyl at Zenith Records, each physical copy carries its own subtle, inherent surface characteristics. Rather than distracting from the music, this analog grit perfectly complements the lo-fi, organic nature of Elizabeth Prophet’s performance.
